"Open day" at KvitbuaGuests from near and far visited Kvitbua under the "Open day" during the "Sørøydagene"
During the years it lost its original use, and no one took care of the building anymore. In 2003 the local "Sanitetsforening" took over the building and restaured it. About 20 people worked as volunteers. To day the building is again in primary use for fishermen that comes to Sørøya. It has a kafe, a livingroom, showers, several washing machines, several tumble dryers and more. Everything is done non-profit by the "Sanitets"- wimen. During the "Sørøydagene" Kvitbua open its doors for people who want to come for a visit. This year they had a cafe with coffe and cakes, dinner and also a lottery. They even had a small consert with Petter Carlsen.
